Gem State Cancer & Blood Specialists Hosts Local Cancer Survivorship Event

The event is open to the public including cancer patients and survivors, their caregivers, cancer advocates, healthcare providers and community organizations.

MERIDIAN, Idaho, November 6, 2023 – Local oncology practice Gem State Cancer & Blood Specialists will host a cancer survivorship event on Thursday, November 9, at Jack’s Urban Meeting Place “JUMP” in the Loft Room, which is located at 1000 West Myrtle Street in Boise, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public and brings together not only cancer survivors but also caregivers, advocates, healthcare providers and community organizations. The agenda includes event discussions on various topics including addressing unmet needs of cancer survivors and their caregivers, the latest insights and updates on oncology, survivor wellness practices, and financial and emotional management tips and resources.

“Cancer is a journey that continues to go beyond after complete remission,” said Stephanie Hodson, MD, Board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist at Gem State Cancer & Blood Specialists. “It also impacts those who surround the cancer patient. It is important to advocate for support and resources before, during and after cancer. This event provides a platform for much-needed discussion surrounding important topics for cancer survivors.
